TR Hirecom's Response to COVID-19

As we navigate through these uncertain times, TR Hirecom is committed to preventing the spread of COVID-19 within our community. Rest assured, we're still able to assist with your rental enquiries and continue supporting you as usual with the quality service and reliable equipment you know and trust. During this difficult time we want to support and help maintain your ongoing business operations with minimal disruption.

We care deeply for the health of staff, customers, and the public and have taken the following measures:

  • Closely monitoring and following guidelines from the Federal and State governments and taking action as needed.
  • Cancelled all non-essential domestic and international business travels amongst our staff.
  • Adopted additional equipment cleaning procedures to ensure equipment is fully sanitised.
  • Given our employees the capacity to work from home with regular support from our normal offices.
  • All external sales and service team members to utilise telephone and video conferencing where possible. When our staff are required to visit customer sites, we ensure that proper social distancing protocols are in place.

We are also taking the following action to treat all inbound equipment before reintroduction to our rental fleet.

  • Creating designated "Equipment Holding Areas" (EHA) to receive and process inbound equipment. They remain isolated until return processes have been completed.
  • Ensuring suitable personal protective equipment e.g. gloves, are worn by all team members handling equipment within our EHAs.
  • Additional training and reinforcement of personal hygiene practices, e.g. more frequent washing of hands before/after handling inbound equipment. Also, procedural training on the handling of inbound rental equipment.
  • Additional steps in accordance with Health Authority recommendations have been introduced as part of the normal cleaning/disinfectant processes of equipment & work surfaces currently adopted.
  • Temporarily halting the use of “re-usable” wrapping/packing materials as would be normal practice.
  • Sealing of all discarded materials, packaging, cleaning consumables, and “single-use” items prior to disposal.

While our radios are in your hands and used among your team, consider these cleaning and disinfecting guidelines recommended by our supplier, Motorola.

For General Cleaning:

  • Apply 0.5% detergent-water solution with a cloth, then use a stiff, non-metallic, short-bristled brush to work all loose dirt away from the device. Use a soft, absorbent, lintless cloth or tissue to remove the solution and dry the device.
  • Make sure that no solution remains entrapped near any connectors, cracks or crevices.

For Disinfecting:

  • Devices may be disinfected by wiping them down with over-the-counter isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) with at least 70% alcohol concentration.
  • When cleaning with isopropyl alcohol, the alcohol should never be applied directly to the device. It should be applied to a cloth, which is then used to wipe down the device.
  • The effects of certain chemicals and their vapours can have detrimental effects on plastics and the metal plating.

As always, thank you for your support, and we will continue to put the wellbeing of those around us first.

Please note: TR Hirecom in unable to, and did not determine whether any particular cleaning product or disinfectant is effective in removing specific foreign substances from the device.
